Reading List

A couple of books that I’ve recently finished or plan to read:

… trotzdem Ja zum Leben sagen: Ein Psychologe erlebt das Konzentrationslager  unread

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying: The Japanese Art – unread

Atomic Habits – amazing book about building good habits and losing bad habits by decreasing/increasing friction and habit-chaining.

Company of One – always felt alone with my approach to business but apparently there are more like me out there.

Brief Answers to the Big Questions: the final book from Stephen Hawking – great book, though the second half was hard for me to understand.

Eine kurze Geschichte von fast allem – content reflects the title, topics include: physics, the universe, geology, geography, chemistry, anthropology and basically how 90% of scientists have only been honored post-mortem (RIP instant-gratification).

New vs old books

“It’s better to reread great books than waste his time on new but average ones”

I’m not talking about fiction here (at least not entirely) but about books on design, development, business, etc.
I have a few which are really, really amazing, like Getting Real, Rework and Building Social Web Applications.

Most books I read, even though they are highly recommended on amazon, are usually not worth my time and I can be glad if I get 1 useful idea out of it.
Totally opposite with these 3 books. I’m not sure how they are doing that but I would be happy to have a few more of these. How do I find those? By reading tons and tons of average ones first 🙁
